Mobile Network Three Inks Cisco Jasper Deal, Eyes The LoT Market

Mobile operator Tres has announced an agreement with Cisco Jasper, the new arm of the IO switchzilla.
The Hue Jasper mobile division will use the base software for business customers who wish to offer their own IO services. Since mid-2017, customers can combine the management platform of Cisco Cisco IPS Jasper with the mobile network of three.
Three of them said they wanted to enter the automotive, security and automation, transportation and logistics, retail, infrastructure and energy sectors.
Operators are increasingly looking to reinvent themselves in the IO market, mobile contract revenue remains stable. The owner of three, CK Hutchison, was hoping to strengthen its position in the market by acquiring O2 Telefonica last year. However, it was hit by the European regulator.
Martin Courtney, an analyst at TechMarketView, said that all three of the space services of the IO could be a welcome boost to his corporate presence.
"Most of their income now comes from consumers (with the first half of 2016 2-1 billion pounds), a stagnation that the MNO will be ready to cope with at the same time as the construction of recurrent source of less susceptible income To the loss of customers. "
However, Courtney noted that three-sided competition in space, with Vodafone, which already moves in IO capabilities beyond its established machine-to-machine business communication.
Cisco Jasper has been working on O2 since 2010 and recently signed a contract with EE. Since its acquisition, the company now works with 50 service providers of mobile operators, an increase of 35 by 2016.
Jarrod Nink, executive director of the Three Mobile Services Division, Hue, said: "This partnership will put three at the heart of the global IOT market and offers tremendous potential for our business customers.
Jasper was acquired by Borg's networking in 2016 at $ 1.4 billion (£ 1.1bn). Cisco also hopes to strengthen its offering with the acquisition of IO for AppDynamics 3.7 billion (£ 2.9 billion), an agreement that is being finalized.
Speaking at Mobile World Congress, Macario Namie, director of IO strategy Cisco Jasper said: "There is a great synergy on the side of the IO ApDyamics.
